Account Director

This is a great opportunity for a driven and talented Sales professional to join our dynamic and successful sales team. As an Account Director you will have B2B responsibility for the UK Financial Services and Professional Services market, selling Mintel Oxygen, our one-stop online platform, designed to give customers easy and fast access to our smart consumer and market insight.

Essential to your success in this great position will be your extensive previous sales experience and your determination to make this role yours. You should also have experience of consulting, marketing, or research services within the Financial Services and Professional Services sectors. Strong English language skills and a full clean driving licence are also both essential. Ideally you will have completed a Business degree and have the intellectual capacity to understand and communicate the application of our insight.

As a Sales Account Manager / Business Development Manager you will have a flair for giving presentations or negotiating with Marketing Directors, supported by a strong sense of empathy and an intuitive understanding of clients’ business objectives. Your enthusiasm, ambition and positive outlook – will be the secret to your success.

With your first class account management and customer acquisition skills, you will be confident in managing sales activity across the UK and you will thrive in meeting financial targets. Although office based, this position will involve travelling for up to 2-3 days a week.

Account Manager – FMCG, Travel & Leisure and Retail Markets Markets

We have a great opportunity for an Account Manager, whose objective is to sell, grow and retain customers by developing and cultivating strong customer relationships through face-to-face visits. In addition, the Account Managers role will ensure all sales processes are implemented and positively maintained. A strong focus on spotting growth opportunities within current portfolio and identify virgin business within assigned market.

Key responsibilities

  • Ability to sell multiple products such as Oxygen, Inspire, Global New Products Database and IRIS through direct client contact
  • Execute focused sales activities on a target list of prospects to an agreed sales plan
  • Manage renewal and upgrade activities as outlined in the Mintel sales process
  • Develop and implement account plans that document specific sales strategies and tactics
  • Effectively and powerfully communicate the Mintel platform to customers and prospects
  • Qualify and validate customer-specific needs and develop appropriate Mintel solution
  • Forecast and track sales revenues and activities in a timely manner using the CRM system and other tools
  • Be a customer champion throughout the entire sales process
  • Build and sustain customer relationships at multiple levels
  • Build lead flow by individual prospecting and following up on marketing-generated leads, generate a healthy pipeline
  • Accurate forecasting of portfolio on a weekly basis

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree (BA level) or equivalent,
  • 2-3 Years in a B2B sales environment, with the ability to manage and generate revenue from existing customers and win new customers
  • Commercial acumen, with a proactive and creative approach to looking after the needs and concerns of customers within the FMCG, Travel & Leisure and Retail Markets
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation and training skills.
  • Excellent telephone manner, and face to face customer skills.
  • The ability to deal with a wide range of customers from end users to Directors
  • Well organised and disciplined with regards sales policy, procedure and standards.
  • To demonstrate individual drive and determination to succeed
  • Effective decision making skills.
